A Walsall firm, Ace Pub Supplies, produced the finger licking scratching which a snack addict claims looks like a Madonna and a Child.

Midland pub-goer Aaron Dodgson was dumbstruck when he saw the "miracle" image in his pack of Q Pork Cracklings, produced by Ace Pub Supplies.

Now the God-fearing man is planning to keep the religious relic in a glass case - prompting jokes and merriment at the Charles Street packing plant in Walsall.

Ace Pub Supplies owner, Phil Rolls, who is also a Director of the Rugeley Snack Company which cooks the popular pig product, said: "When Aaron rang us about it, I thought it was a big joke."

"I can't believe people have taken it so seriously, " said Phil, who runs the company with wife Linda. "It is just amazing that one of our scratchings has become so famous." Aaron, of Earlsodn, Coventry, is planning a round of TV appearances with the religious rind - including Channel Four's Big Breakfast.
